Admission
Admission to our program can be achieved through two distinct pathways. The first route follows the standard application process detailed on the Master's in Economics QEM website. You can find more information about it in the following link: https://master-economics-qem.eu/
Alternatively, if you are a student at University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, you can automatically be admitted into the EMJMD QEM program. This occurs once you have successfully completed the first semester courses of Microeconomics 1, Macroeconomics 1, Optimization, and probability and statistics (more information on the contains can be found on this website) with an average grade of B. These courses are part of the EMJMD QEM program and can be found in the DU MMEF program in the track Economics. Both of these programs are offered by University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne.
The examination for these courses typically takes place in December. Your grades for these four courses will be determined by the EMJMD QEM program coordination. University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne students will take the same exam as all EMJMD QEM students. The grading process for these exams will be conducted by the same professors who assess the work of all EMJMD QEM students.
Achieving a successful B average according to the grade translation table will guarantee your admission to the EMJMD QEM program.
Upon acceptance, your enrollment in the EMJMD QEM program will be retroactively applied to the first semester. All EMJMD QEM students spend their first semester (S1) in one of our partner universities. This can be in Barcelona (Spain), Paris1, Venice (Italy), or Louvain la Neuve (Belgium); the choice is yours. The general rule is that students must study in at least two partner institutions.

Mobility
The EMJMD QEM program spans four semesters, including a mandatory mobility requirement of at least one semester. Students are expected to study at a minimum of two partner institutions, with the option to spend one semester at an associated partner university.
In the first year, all students begin their studies with the initial semester (S1) at either Ca’ Foscari University of Venice or the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. This initial semester is designed to facilitate smooth transitions between institutions. The second semester (S2) can be completed at any partner university, except in cases where the second year is spent at the same institution as the first semester of the program.
For students directly admitted by the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in the field of Economics, their first semester is based in Paris.
After the December exams, students who receive acceptance notifications will be offered a specific mobility track proposal. Acceptance of this proposal is a prerequisite for officially entering the program. All students must study at a minimum of two partner institutions as part of the program requirements.
The second year of the program should be completed at one of the four universities, with a focus on the chosen specialization.
The Joint Graduate Committee plays a crucial role in selecting the proposed mobility track, considering factors such as student preferences, partner institutions' preferences, and ensuring an equitable distribution of students within the Consortium during the second year.
In summary, University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne students pursuing the QEM program must spend at least one semester at one of the other partner universities:

Study programme
The EMJMD QEM at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne is organized in two years of studies: First year where focus is on core courses, like in each partner university, with the objective of building a solid foundation in Economics and quantitative methods. Second year of specialization with emphasis on two tracks Quantitative Economics or Quantitative Finance. For more information on that please, consult the links below:
First year
-
Objectives
The primary objective of the first year is to establish a robust foundation in Economics and quantitative methods, laying the essential groundwork upon which students will construct their specialized knowledge in the second year. This foundation serves as the basis for further specialization in the second year.
To commence your academic journey, the University Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne hosts Welcome Days at the inception of each semester. These meticulously organized events serve multiple purposes. They not only streamline the registration process and facilitate networking opportunities among students but also provide a platform for our esteemed faculty, the Director of Studies, and the European Coordinator of the EMJMD QEM program to introduce course content, furnish comprehensive curriculum details, and communicate essential regulations and requirements. Attendance at these Welcome Days is obligatory, as it sets the tone for a productive and successful academic year ahead.
